Hands and Feet

Warrior for Truth and Coffee Throughout my last few years, I have learned what it feels like to be on the receiving end of charity. I am so grateful for those who were moved to help me, and eternally grateful to a heavenly Father who always makes sure that I am safe and cared for. I am grateful that I have children who have grown up in the knowledge that earthly treasure does not equate with happiness, and that Father God will care for every need if we but trust Him. My children have seen miracles of provision, and it has changed their perspective and their faith.

I have mentored people in the fact that Jesus Christ was a very practical Savior. When people were hungry, He fed them. When they were sick, He healed them. This is the amazing Truth – although His primary goal is our spiritual journey home, He understands we live in a physical world. He also expects us to move in faith, not just expect Him to take care of it .

Matthew 14:15-16 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
Lately I have been struggling with a sense of purpose, why I am here and what good I can do. It has affected my relationships, my mood and my walk with Christ as I doubted my usefulness to Him on this Earth. But this morning, due in large part I am sure to fervent prayers of people who love me, I awoke with a vision and a purpose. It’s time to get to work.
Galatians 6:9-10 So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith.
I have a huge dream for a ministry. At the moment, it seems to big to fathom, but God is big. And He asks us to use what is currently at our disposal. That is what I am going to do, with His help.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

In the coming days, you will see the beginnings of His ministry through me…small beginnings I will not despise. He wants to teach people on this earth how to practically, give to others under His precepts. He wants us to truly be His hands and feet in our communities. But He has implanted in me a desire to do things a bit differently. When you work for the living God, there are no limits. When you work on His behalf, there is no recognition but His.
Matthew 6:2-4
‘So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

So pray for me as I explore those things He asks of me. And be prepared for an explosion of His practical love in Sarasota. Be prepared to be challenged. Be prepared to love extravagantly. Be prepared to go beyond what you think you can. Be prepared to be His hands and feet. Praise God from whom ALL our blessings flow.
2 Corinthians 9:10-15
Now God who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your supply of seed and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow. You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,  because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God.  Through the evidence of this service they will glorify God because of your obedience to your confession in the gospel of Christ and the generosity of your sharing with them and with everyone. And in their prayers on your behalf they long for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown to you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.
